1. Set the Foundation.  For the wax to stick to the surface for weeks and even months, the paint must be properly prepped.  Hand washing and clay barring the paint will remove any dirt and debris between the wax and your car's paint.

2. Application.  The most efficient way to apply a wax is using a foam cannon.  If you do not have a foam cannon, then a spray bottle with some microfiber towels will suffice.  Dilute your spray wax according to the manufacture's recommendation.  If you are applying a wax in directly sunlight, make sure to work panel by panel.  This means drying the wax after spraying it onto a panel to prevent the wax from drying on the surface.

3. Buffing.  Wipe off excess wax with a buffing towel or a clean microfiber.  A microfiber drying towel will speed up the drying process even further.
