Cloth And Rubber Mat Detailing
Cleaning floor mats means potentially cleaning dirt, oil, hair, road tar, and mud off the intricate surfaces. With varying geometry, it is important for us to develop a technique that cleans all mat shapes. Dirt gets stuck between the grooves making it hard to remove. Our detailing process uses a shop vacuum, professional grade cleaners, drill brushes, and compressed air. Â
The Process
1. Remove
We move the floor mats to a secluded part of the property away from the vehicle and building. This is done to prevent dust blowouts and chemicals from slinging onto the car.
2. Compressed Air
Our high-pressure air tools give us a cleaning advantage by dislodging loose and even embedded dirt with immense efficiency. Â
3. Chemicals
Depending on the level of dirt and requested detail, our professionals evenly spray a safe, powerful APC (all purpose cleaner) onto the mat. Tar, gum, and most sticky substances melt away under the power of our cleaners. If the mats have biological stains or dirt, we switch to spraying enzymes on the spot; enzymes do a fantastic job against biological stains.
4. Drill Brush
Manually scrubbing may be required in some special cases, however, automating the scrubbing process with an electric drill brush with a soft bristle attachment will save time and effort agitating the dirt.
5. Spray Down and Drying
If the mats are rubber, a quick pressure wash will remove the working chemicals. For cloth mats, a high absorption microfiber is used to wipe away the remaining chemicals and then both types of mats are blown dry with compressed air.
